As a roofing supply company we work with and supply a wide range of metal materials, non-ferrous and ferrous metals.
Cutting, folding, forming, water-jet cutting, CNC routing, welding, and soldering are some of the techniques we apply to the materials we use to manufacture.
Each metal has its advantages and disadvantages suited to the respective application. These applications range from roofs, walls, gutters, awnings, ornaments, screens, rainwater heads.
Metal material selection considers quality, suitability, durability, compatibility and price.
See following materials each unique and with varying degrees of suitability depending on the application used for.
Aluminium marine grade (5052 and 5251) is a highly popular material for box gutters, sumps, trays, and light sheet metal fabrications. This is because it has excellent corrosion resistance, even in marine environments, which makes it ideal for outdoor applications.
Additionally, aluminium marine grade is lightweight and easy to work with, making it a preferred choice for fabricating complex shapes and designs. It is also highly durable, which makes it a cost-effective choice for long-term use.
Aluminium is also suitable for powder coating panels, rainheads in a range of finishes to match Colorbond and other colours. It can also be fully TIG welded creating the best possible seals for joins at critical areas such as box gutters.
Moreover, aluminium marine grade is a sustainable option, as it is easily recyclable and has a low carbon footprint.
The material's corrosion resistance, lightweight nature, and durability make it a popular choice for a range of applications in marine, industrial, and construction industries.
Prefalz Aluminium – for standing seam comes in an impressive variety of colours and shapes.
The reason for this is simple: As it is made of aluminium, PREFA’s Prefalz is more pliable than most comparable folding materials and therefore easy to shape.
The flexible aluminium alloy strips are particularly easy to form, despite their highest paint and surface resistance. This results in countless individual design possibilities that would barely be conceivable with any other material. The material’s flexibility does not affect its paint quality which means that the facade lasts a lifetime.
PREFA not only produces pre-painted aluminium coils for traditional roofing and facade, but also complete cladding systems such as roof and facade shingles and tiles. Available exclusively at KFC Roofing Supplies. These are unique in the Australian Market and create new perspectives in roof and wall design.
All PREFA products offer a more engineered solution as they are pressed and machined to precision, complete with leading plates, clips, fixing screws and flashings and available in most PREFA colours, in smooth or stucco finish.
• Non-combustible material, tested according to AS1530.3
• Economical cladding solution
• Long life expectancy of 75 or more years
• Non-corrosive base material – aluminium builds a layer of oxide if exposed and protects itself from corrosion
• Same Standing Seam and other cladding systems as used with copper and zinc
• Large variety of colours available

Due to the excellent physical properties and significant advantages, copper is considered to be an ideal material for architecture. These include heritage and modern applications including monuments, museums, churches, commercially used buildings, and private residences.
We stock mill finished copper in gauges from 0.55 mm to 3.00mm. Copper is used for rainwater goods, such as traditional and half round gutters and downpipes, Standing Seam Roof cladding and facade cladding in Angle Standing Seam and Interlocking Panel Systems.
Galvabond is a family of hot dip zinc-coated galvanized steel sheeting made up of: Galvabond G2 steel – a hot dip zinc-coated commercial forming steel with a spangled surface.
Galvabond G2S steel – skin passed to improve surface quality. Galvabond G3N – a hot dip zinc-coated deep drawing steel with a spangled surface.
Galvanised steel Z600 is the original heritage grade with double coating applied which makes it more weather resistant.
It is suitable for roll-forming to standing seam cladding applications as well as for gutters, downpipes and rainwater heads. The original shiny spangled surface will dull off over time.
Lead is one of the oldest materials in the roofing industry and is still commonly used throughout the world today. In light of this, it is safe to say that lead has proven itself to be a reliable and durable material, excellent for roofing purposes.
We keep stock of lead in a range of weights and widths.
Stainless steel 316 Marine grade is a non-ferrous metal which is a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material that is often used in roofing, rainwater goods, and gutter applications.
While easy to maintain Stainless Steel is highly durable and has a long lifespan, which makes it a cost-effective option in the long run.
It is also popular for gutter systems, as it provides excellent resistance to rust and corrosion caused by rainwater.
Stainless steel is ideal for areas with high levels of moisture or salt exposure, such as coastal regions.
Stainless steel has a unique aesthetic appeal and is often used in architectural and decorative elements.
ZINCALUME® steel has been used with striking effect by leading architects to create the latest in modern building designs, through to classic roofing styles and rural sheds.
BlueScope’s ZINCALUME® steel with Activate® technology has a unique aluminium/ zinc/ magnesium alloy coating (AM) which acts in three ways:
Zinc is a popular material for roofing and facade applications due to its unique properties.
It is a non-corrosive metal, which makes it highly resistant to rust and weathering.
Zinc also has a self-healing property, which means that if it does get scratched or damaged, it will naturally repair itself over time. This makes zinc a very durable and long-lasting option for roofing and facades.
Additionally, zinc has a low thermal expansion rate, which means it does not expand or contract as much as other metals when exposed to heat and cold. This makes it an ideal material for regions with extreme weather conditions.
Furthermore, zinc is lightweight and easy to install, making it a popular choice for both residential and commercial projects.
